BREAKING NEWS: Letterboxd Users Like Challengers
Don’t let the opening weekend doomsayers fool ya; cinephilia is alive and well. Letterboxd has reported that Challengers, 2024’s most Horny on Main movie thusfar, has joined the One Million Watched club. That means it’s been marked as “watched” by at least 1,000,000 Letterboxd users. “It is one of the top four fastest films to reach one million watched on Letterboxd,” they tweeted. Challengers hit 1 mill 48 days after release. The movie that hit that mark the fastest was last year’s Barbie, 22 days after the premiere and only 12 days after theatrical release.
The news came shortly after it was announced that Challengers would be streaming (yay!) on MGM+ (who?). Social media users decried having to take on yet another subscription fee if they want to see the churro scene again. Well, someone keeps posting the whole film to Twitter. But that seems less than optimal for repeat viewing.
