Azealia Banks Reveals Shes Not Through With Iggy Azalea, Releases Used to Being Alone

Banks.

In a recent Elle Canada interview, Iggy Azalea reconfirmed her relationship status with Azealia Banks. The move was bound to stir something up: “If I could, I would Men in Black memory-erase 2015 … I think the Azealia Banks thing is what really started it all,” Iggy said, referencing a rough year in her history of hip-hop controversy. “We don’t like each other on a personal level, and that has gone on for many years — before the Black Lives Matter incident happened … I still hate Azealia Banks.” Sure enough, the public mentioning of Banks’s name got her going.

No one is talking about u so u choose to mention me.... Wrong move hoe.

Mentioning me is the only thing that will get you attention. Because ur music and nose job are trash

I'm about to take my pettiness to a whole new level.

What followed late Tuesday night was “Used to Being Alone,” Banks’s latest single and musical mic drop.

I KNOW YOU CARE.

As has been pointed out, the song sounds semi-familiar because it features the Tony Igy sample used in Iggy Azalea’s “My World.” It might not be the Meek-Drake-style dis track for which you were hoping — “Alone” plays more as a heartbroken dance jam, one that’s notably used as an opportunity for Banks to flex her vocals — but the hijacked background still takes the rappers’ beef to new territory. Listen below:

“Alone” comes on the heels of “The Big Big Beat,” and, as Banks mentioned, is likely an indication that her Slay-Z mixtape is coming very, very soon:

K, i got #thebigbigbeat mastered. video on the way. gonna add a bit more to #USEDTOBEINGALONE spice that bitch up and drop slay-z ASAP

— AZEALIABANKS (@AZEALIABANKS) March 2, 2016

No, like next 9 days kind of asap LOL https://t.co/Oas1ckNFrd

But it turns out Iggy also has a special March release planned:

#TEAM will be released March 21st! 🙌🏻

So keep tabs on all that — and the pettiness, if you please — over here and here.
